Rome

So moved to see that last flight over Rome, the Eternal City in late afternoon sunshine and Benedict XVI  saying his last goodbyes.

It is the work of God. The human person is not the author of his own vocation but responds to the divine call. Human weakness should not be afraid if God calls. It is necessary to have confidence in his strength, which acts in our poverty; we must rely more and more on the power of his mercy, which transforms and renews

And this the starting point for a new blog, the Pope’s farewell on 28 February, 2013:
You know that this day of mine hasn’t been like those before. I’m no longer the Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic church – at least, at 8 o’clock I won’t be – now I’m just a pilgrim beginning the last part of his journey on earth.
